The Detroit Team Takes on Summer in the City

Last week the Detroit Isobar team volunteered at Summer in the City, a wonderful organization that helps to improve and beautify Detroit. In addition to their annual summer event, the organization also puts on a summer camp for children who live in the city and provides them with back to school supplies. This marks the third summer the Detroit team has worked with this organization, and as always, it proved to be a fun and rewarding experience.

This year was our largest turnout yet, with seventeen team members in attendance. The Isobar employees teamed up with Wayne State College students and middle school volunteers to plan games and activities for the campers’ end-of-summer celebration, as well as put together “back to school” bags for the kids. All activities took place at the Joseph Walker Williams Center, in the heart of the city. The experience was so successful that the team was invited back to join more than 1,000 volunteers, students, and neighborhood children to celebrate all of the incredible work they did for the communities of Detroit.

Volunteering at Summer in the City is very important to the Detroit employees and we’re so proud and honored to be part of such an incredible and inspiring cause.
