Summer In The City

Summer in City Group

The Isobar team in Detroit shared a special outing last Thursday as they took part in Summer in the City, a dynamic Detroit nonprofit organization and summer-long outreach that’s transforming the impact volunteers have on the city. Whether painting a mural, planting community and urban gardens, or mentoring neighborhood children, the leaders and volunteers serve local communities across Detroit throughout the summer in a variety of capacities.

Isobar employees teamed up with college students and middle school volunteers to plan games and activities for the campers’ end-of-summer celebration. These stations included kickball, football, parachute games, a book nook, a snow cone station, and more. Some of the volunteers even contributed to a giant mural on the outside of the Howard Hardy Crowell Recreation Center depicting iconic imagery associated with the city. The experience was so great that the team was invited back to join more than 500 volunteers, students, and neighborhood children to celebrate all of the incredible work they did for the communities of Detroit.
