Isobar Hosts Resume Building Workshop with UpwardlyGlobal

This month, Isobar hosted its 2nd volunteer event with Upwardly Global.  Upwardly Global is a national non profit organization that works to eliminate employment barriers for skilled immigrants and refugees.  13 Isobar volunteers and 11 job seekers attended the event.  As the last event focused on helping the job seekers develop their interviewing skills, this event focused on providing job seekers feedback on their resumes.

This was an extremely rewarding experience for all of the Isobar volunteers – it gave us the ability to use the professional skills that we have developed throughout our careers, to coach and thus play an important role in helping individuals reshape their lives in the U.S.  I myself was very impressed with my job seeker’s background and how talented he was, and would like to continue to stay in touch with him throughout his job search.

I’d like to thank Alex Ablamunets,  Laura Wahls, and Ashley Johnsrud for providing this opportunity to the Chicago office!  Looking forward to the next Upwardly Global event.
